CorporateToday is a big day for Granica, and we couldn’t be more honored and excited! We’ve been named a Cool Vendor in the 2023 Gartner Cool Vendors™ in Cool Vendors in Cloud That Drive Business Disruption by Sid Nag, Arun Chandrasekaran, Kevin Ji, and Craig Lowery.
Wow!
We believe this is a testament to our mission to make AI affordable, accessible, and safe to use and showcases the impact of our vision. And what we’re doing is really different. By offering a platform with efficiency services consumed via API and layering on top of cloud data stores, we’re helping organizations build efficiency right into their applications. It’s the “shift-left” mindset and philosophy applied to AI efficiency. The results are impressive - our data reduction service Granica Crunch reduces petabyte-scale AI data costs by up to 80%, and our data privacy service Granica Screen unlocks sensitive data for training to improve AI model accuracy and performance - safely. Finally, our outcome-base business model ensures our customers only pay for value delivered, as opposed to mere consumption. It’s an incredibly customer-centric approach and we think one that is going to catch on across many product and service categories. Buyers want results, not effort, after all.
It was only a few months ago that we launched Granica out of stealth, and the reaction from the market has been incredible. Our customers are quickly leveraging our AI efficiency solutions to help them to get better results from their AI initiatives at a lower cost and with greater privacy, thereby improving their ROI on AI.
We agree with Gartner that some of the biggest challenges facing organizations looking to drive business disruption in their industry include navigating the combination of cloud with generative AI, achieving data compliance, and overcoming technical debt and skills gaps. Granica provides a cloud platform tailored to use cases such as FinOps cloud cost optimization and AI privacy preservation to unlock breakthroughs and operationalize AI for all organizations spanning researchers, startups and Fortune 500 companies across financial services, e-commerce and retail, logistics, technology, and other industries. Category-defining companies including HERE Technologies, Quantum Metric, and Nylas use Granica to cost-effectively keep, grow and use their AI data to drive business disruption.
According to Gartner, “Cloud continues to be the disruptor in an organization’s technology and business operational models. However, the role of cloud is shifting rapidly from technology disruptor to a capability enabler to an innovation facilitator and eventually a business disruptor.” It recommends that I&O leaders who want to improve their I&O platforms “elevate their cloud adoption strategy with a mindset of embracing business disruption” and that they “choose vendors that can provide a pathway to their IT modernization journey that includes tools that leverage AI, developer productivity, mobile solutions and digital application delivery across distributed and multicloud environments.“
According to the report, “I&O leaders are increasingly challenged to drive IT modernization by adopting capabilities and technologies such as generative AI, mobile cloud architectures and platform engineering while staying hyperfocused on cost and productivity.”
In our customer conversations these challenges loom large indeed. And while some organizations are mature in their use of AI to drive disruptive business outcomes, we find that many are looking for help building a strategy that will maximize their chances of success.
We believe that a successful AI strategy, and modernization strategy more broadly, depends on a successful data strategy.
This is why we are so focused on delivering foundational, efficient approaches to data management, access, and privacy. This is also why we have invested in building an extensible platform for AI efficiency rather than simply introduce point products. Such a platform-centric approach makes it dramatically easier, more cost-effective — and thus more efficient! — for our customers to adopt new capabilities as we introduce them.
From our POV, being named a Cool Vendor is incredibly validating, but we also know we’re only at the beginning of our journey to achieve our (big!) vision for AI efficiency and to build an iconic company along the way. We have lots to do and we can’t wait to do it — and to share the results and outcomes as we go.
Onwards!
